Duffy has dominated the Brits by winning three major prizes.The singer, hailed as a modern-day answer to Dusty Springfield, was named best female solo artist and best breakthrough artist. In a surprise outcome, she also beat established acts Coldplay and Radiohead to win the award for best album with her soulful debut release, Rockferry, the biggest-selling release of 2008.

The Welsh singer had landed a six-figure deal to star in a Diet Coke ad campaign. The 24-year-old — real name Aimee Anne Duffy had been picked for her “raw and edgy character, since they wanted to move away from typical Diet Coke ads with stick-thin models and chiselled hunks.

One would have thought that filming for Duffy’s new Diet Coke ad would be as easy as falling off a bike.But that’s the one thing that the Welsh warbler didn’t get a chance to do. The Mercy singer stars in the 60-second ad (shown during the BRITs coverage) that shows her escape for a bold bike ride during a gig, but viewers will actually see a body double in action.

Producers have said:

“A trained artist was used in case there are dangerous manoeuvres required.”

We wonder how dangerous can it really be…

On the same day her husband Blake was released from prison (and went straight to rehab), Amy Winehouse went crazy and attacked the paparazzi that were waiting for her outside her house.

Not to mention that she was looking absolutely terrible, with eyeliner and other brown stuff smeared all over her face. I really feel sorry for her!

Karolina Kurkova, one of the world’s hottest models, was called “fat” by the Brazilian media.

Kurkova was slammed in the country for appearing in a bikini with what critics called “back fat, love handles and cellulite” at the Cia Maritima show during Sao Paulo Fashion Week.

An article in a Brazilian paper about 5′11″ Kurkova described how “shocked” the audience was when she appeared looking uncharacteristically chubby with “cellulite on her butt.” [Source]

I don’t even want to comment on how ridiculous this is. Just because she’s looking healthy, they’re calling her “fat”?! Have they already forgotten Ana Carolina Reston, the Brazilian model who died less than two years ago from anorexia?

Mariah Carey, who recently lost around 14 pounds, appeared on Oprah yesterday and shared some of her diet and fitness secrets with the rest of the world.

“My jean size went down to my 10th grade size,” the 38-year-old revealed Monday.

“I got tired to people telling me, ‘You need to lose weight,’” she said. “It inspired me.”

“For me, it’s not about a number on a scale,” she added. “It’s not about necessarily even a size. It’s about feeling good and being comfortable in your own skin. Right now, I feel really great. I feel better than I’ve ever felt.” [Us]

Mariah is a well-known yo-yo dieter, her weight fluctuating a lot throughout the years. But a recent comment about her weight made by a close friend inspired her to make some permanent changes in her life and get into shape once and for all. Mariah’s “secret weight loss weapon” is her nutrition and fitness coach, who helped her reshape her body, but also makes sure she follows her strict diet.

Mariah says her workouts typically last for 60 to 90 minutes and combine cardio with resistance training. To tone her arms, Mariah uses her own body weight and stretches to sculpt long, lean lines. She likes to hop into a pool for the cardio portion of her workout. “What’s great about working out in the pool is the water acts as resistance,” she says. “You’re actually exercising twice as hard without feeling it.” [Oprah]
