This post is not about celebrity weight or diets, but I found it too funny, so I had to share it.

When she got out of jail, Paris Hilton promised she would become a good girl and get involved in charities and awareness campaigns. Now she has finally found one cause close to her heart: saving drunk Indian elephants!

The twenty-six year old heiress is hoping to raise awareness of the problem, after hearing about an incident in Meghalaya last week in which six intoxicated elephants were killed after hitting a high-tension electric pole outside the Indian village of Chandan Nukat.

“There would have been more casualties if the villagers hadn’t chased them away.”

“And four elephants died in a similar way three years ago. It is just so sad. The biggest problems are in Assam and Meghalaya. The elephants get drunk all the time.”

“It is becoming really dangerous. We need to stop making alcohol available to them.” [Source]

I don’t know if this is true or not (it certainly sounds like a joke), but it’s so damn funny!

Here’s a few candid pictures of Paris Hilton at her beach party in Malibu last week.

In a recent interview, Paris‘ mom Kathy Hilton has spoken about how Paris spent her first days out of jail:

“She couldn’t really sleep [in] – she was working that day, doing a photo shoot. I made her a big breakfast. She had pancakes. She said, ‘Mom, I want eggs, I want pancakes, I want waffles, I want toast, fresh juice.’ “

Yes, I know, this isn’t actually news, but I had nothing more interesting to post about Paris Hilton than her mother talking about how she pampered her when she got out of jail. She then goes on talking about Paris‘ mystery medical condition in jail, which she says was actually rashes caused by the thin sheets and blankets.

For Paris‘s homecoming, her mother wished to comfort the Simple Life star, so she set up a room in what, she said, “used to be the baby nursery for the grandchildren at [Paris's grandfather's] house. I had fresh, really soft towels, and really soft sheets and one of those really soft, cuddly [blankets] called ‘my blankey,’ and nice soft pillow cases.”

Kathy Hilton‘s rationale, she said, was that Paris – who currently is “spending time with her cousins in Malibu getting ready to go back to work” – had “been in jail, obviously with the very thin sheets and one pillow and one little thin blanket. That’s how [inmates] get rashes. It feels like sandpaper.”

Paris‘s reaction to all this softness, says her mother, was that “she went in, and she looked at the Fresh Farms soap, and she looked at the towels and the Evian water by her bedside. I wanted to make her feel really welcome. And we went downstairs and made a sandwich. And she ran outside with her doggie. And she ran, and she was screaming, ‘Oh, this feels so good. I feel so lucky.’ ” [Source]

Paris Hilton will make her musical movie debut in a futuristic rock-opera-horror called ‘Repo! The Genetic Opera’, that will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (the director of the three “Saw” movies).

The thriller is set in 2056, when people are forced to buy expensive genetically modified organs from the evil biotech company Geneco. Paris will play the daughter of the organ transplant magnate (played by Paul Sorvino), who is the movie’s villain.

Here’s the director’s reason for choosing Paris Hilton for this role:

“This movie has become my life,” said Bousman. “I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role — Paris came in and owned it. She is this role.”

“We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them.” [Source]

Paris Hilton has found a way to combine her favorite love of partying with good causes, by attending celebrity charitable events. Paris appeared at the “Feed the Models, Save the World” event on July 24, and this is what she had to say about giving back to the community:

“I feel like everyone who’s a human being in this world has a responsibility to give back and make this world a better place. I feel if everyone bonds together — no matter if it’s for children, the environment or for animals we can all make a difference.” [Source]
