Nicole Richie IS pregnant and will get married this summer!

It’s now official! Nicole Richie really is pregnant, and will get married this summer to her boyfriend Joel Madden.

In Touch magazine confirmed the rumors yesterday:

She’s been avoiding questions and rumors for weeks, but recently Nicole Richie started to confess to friends that she really is pregnant. “Nicole didn’t want to tell anyone until she was past three months,” a pal explains. “She really kept the news from everyone.”And a baby isn’t the only happy news. Nicole, 25, “is getting married this summer” to her boyfriend, Joel Madden, says an insider.

Joel, 28, who fronts the band Good Charlotte, seems excited about starting a new life with Nicole, too. “He kept talking about his fiancée,” Guttermouth guitarist Donald Horne, whose band played with Joel’s in Quebec on June 29, tells In Touch. Joel also spoke about leaving LA, adds Donald. “He was talking about looking to settle down someplace nice and start a family,” he says. [Source]

Nicole is currently facing DUI charges for driving the wrong way on a California highway last December. Her trial is set for July 11.
Nicole also made it on the cover of Marie Claire UK’s August 2007 issue. Here are some excerpts from her interview:

On staying positive about relationships: “The world isn’t perfect, but I’m optimistic about family and marriage”

On what she looks for in a guy: “Circumcised and a bit grungy.”

On trusting no one: “I don’t trust valets, waiters — nobody. I don’t waste my time anymore trying to figure out who [leaks things to the press].”

On Nicole’s biggest tabloid issue, weight: “It’s not me that’s obsessed with my weight, it’s everyone else. I know that I’m healthy, so I don’t really feel the need to answer to anyone. I’ve never substituted a meal for a salad in my life.” [Source]

Nicole Richie says she’s not anorexic in Nylon interview

Nicole Richie is on the cover of Nylon Magazine’s August 2007 issue. In the interview, she denies once again being an anorexic:

“It’s really sad how obsessed America is with weight. It’s sick. I’ve never gone a day without putting food in my mouth. I’ve never sewn my mouth shut. I’ve never gone on a liquid diet. So I want to know why I’m the face for a problem.”

Nicole says that she doesn’t want to be looked at as a role model by young girls:

“I don’t walk around pretending that I’m perfect, so I don’t think anyone should hold me to that. The dangerous thing is that there are 16, 17, 18-year-olds that people consider to be role models. I’m so happy I wasn’t famous back then. You’d think I was the f**king devil.”

She also spoke about her heroin addiction, insisting that she never reached the “crazy crack head” level that some of her peers did (sleeping under a bridge with no shoes on? haha…).

“When I pictured heroin, I pictured some crazy crackhead with no shoes under a bridge. You never think that is going to be you.”
“And it never was me. I was never under a bridge, and I always had shoes.” [Source]

Nicole Richie likes skinny, homeless-looking men

Nicole Richie has confessed in the June 2007 issue of Harper’s Bazaar that her ideal type of man is the pale, skinny, homeless-looking rocker:

“I really like pale, I really like skinny, I like people that kind of look homeless. Back in the day, it would have been David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix.” [Source]

I guess her boyfriend Joel Madden fits the description!

Pregnant Nicole Richie to get married?

I’m not sure if this is really true (especially since I’ve heard the wedding story a few months ago too), but the rumors that Nicole Richie is pregnant with her boyfriend Joel Madden are getting more and more persistent.

NOW that she’s pregnant, Nicole Richie is getting hitched, too. The tiny “Simple Life” star and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, showed up for the YSL Pool Party to benefit Center Dance Arts at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday night - and she was conspicuously wearing a huge diamond engagement ring. “It was one big rock surrounded by more diamonds,” our source said. Richie refused to talk about the ring. Meanwhile, Madden was “overly attentive to her - keeping his arm around her all night - and repeatedly asked her if she was OK.” The cozy couple ate everything on their plates, lobster salad and lamb, but refused all alcohol, which our snarky spy called “a first for her.” [Source]

PageSix also says that Nicole is hoping that her pregnancy will help her escape the jail sentence over DUI charges that she’s fearing.
