Jennifer Aniston, Mariah Carey and others turn 40 and survive

Jennifer Aniston on set in New York

Call off the dogs! Apparently, turning 40 isn’t the worst thing ever anymore. Now that a number of our favorite female stars have turned forty and are still finding work, it’s easier than ever to rationalize being honest about your age. And it gets better! You can even feel good about yourself beyond the big 4-0.

Mariah Carey just did it — do you see her crying?

Of course not. Husband Nick Cannon — 12 years her junior — just whisked her off to Barbados and Miami for the big day. The songstress still showed she could party like her 20 something counterparts at Cabana One in Coconut Grove until dawn.

Jennifer Aniston did it too — in February. With the wheat blond hair, trim body and crinkle-free baby blues, the actress looks better than she did in her Friends days. There’s an air of victorious sophistication that’s settled in now. Her face tells a story: I’ve married and divorced Brad Pitt, been publicly humiliated and still emerged as American royalty.

Cindy Crawford recently used Allure as some kind of comeback vehicle. Seeing her 43-year-old naked body swathed in nothing but shaving cream was cause for celebration. Forget furniture, start hawking lingerie.

Fellow ’80s supermodel Linda Evangelista, also 43, improves with time. Can a face get any more chiseled?

And the queen of the sexy 40-somethings — new mom Halle Berry, 42, just bared (almost all) in a beach-side photo shoot for her new eponymous perfume. Nice wet T-shirt. Are you sure you didn’t have a surrogate deliver your kid? Halle-lujah! [Source]

So forty is the new twenty, which means that I’m still in diapers. Goodie. Now if someone could just point me towards my bottle.
