Katy Perry is trying to make nice with Lily Allen. After referring to herself as a “skinnier version” of the British singer, Katy had to do some back peddling to avoid an all out pop-starlet cat fight.

Katy told Heat magazine: “I really didn’t mean to upset her. What I actually said was that I was a skinnier version of Lily Allen and a fatter version of Amy Winehouse. But Lily is skinny now. She is hot - she looks really good.”

Despite feeling confident about her body now, Katy admits she was given the less-than-flattering nickname of ‘Nip-Slip’ when she was younger.

She explained: “It comes from when I didn’t have boobs, or much of them.”

Lily was so infuriated by Katy’s remarks, she previously threatened to post the singer’s telephone number on the internet. She branded the ‘I Kissed A Girl‘ star “crass” and claimed they were “nothing alike because you’re not English and you don’t write your own songs”. [Source]

Let’s hope that Katy’s apology doesn’t fall on deaf ears. Lily Allen strikes me as the type to hold a grudge.

Lily Allen claims that she visits a therapist once a week. The singer suffered a miscarriage in January 2008, shortly before she split from Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons. It was during this low point that Lily started visiting a counsellor to deal with her grief. She says:

‘I have a brilliant therapist who I see once a week’

It’s not clear if Lily meant that she was seeing Susan Hepburn, the hypnotherapist whom she used to frequent often . Susan had helped Lily to clean up her eating and drinking habits. Lily, 23, says the media attention on her personal life is also a problem.

‘Sometimes I feel like I really have had enough, And I’m not someone who eats, lives and breathes music; I don’t love it enough to keep getting all this.’

Lily Allen confesses she experimented with illegal substances as a teenager, but insists that she’s currently clean and sober and hopes to stay that way. She says:

‘Drugs are illegal and bad and they ruin people’s lives but they’re pretty prominent.’

The star, who spent a while in a rehabilitation clinic for depression and also suffered a miscarriage, had vowed to stay away from illegal substances. She adds:

‘I have no intention of taking drugs again at the moment. But I can’t say “never again”, because I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 years’ time. And I will definitely drink in the future, just not for a while.’

Well, Lily, that only time will tell.

Lily Allen has sought the help of her hypnotherapist Susan Hepburn once again in order to lose weight and stop drinking.

After several sessions of “hypno-dieting” (a new trend that’s popular with the stars right now), the singer has dropped two dress sizes and gave up drinking. This new weight loss method (which is rumored to cost about $600 a session) is also favored by celebrities like Geri Halliwell and Sophie Dahl.

Here’s what Susan Hepburn, the hypnotist who has worked with Lily, said about this method:

“During sessions, I taught Lily to favor healthy, low-fat meals instead of junk food and to see that alcohol isn’t a confidence booster, it’s just extra calories that sabotage your efforts to get a good body.” [Source]

While attending GQ magazine’s 20th anniversary party on Thursday night, Lily Allen made a huge hole in her stockings at the back of her leg. The singer managed to rectify her wardrobe malfunction by making a quick dress change. The fluffy-looking pale pink dress that Lily changed into is not so figure-flattering, but still she managed to look good in it.

While she’s obviously slimmer and in a better shape than ever, I think her hair and especially makeup are terrible and make her look at least ten years older. I have seen 70-year old ladies who use that type of hot pink lipstick!

Lily Allen unfortunately decided to dye her hair blond. I’m not saying it looks bad on her, but I liked her much better as a brunette. I think it suited her personality more. Now she looks just like most Hollywood starlets and wannabes.

Yesterday there were reports that British singer Lily Allen was dumped by her boyfriend Ed Simons (of the Chemical Brothers). Their relationship apparently did not survive after Lily suffered a heart-breaking miscarriage two weeks ago.

A pal of Lily’s confirmed last night: “They tried to make things work but couldn’t. The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them - and in recent weeks the mood between them had been really strained.”

The friend went on: “Lily is really upset things haven’t worked out for her and Ed.” [The Sun]

But yesterday morning, Lily was photographed leaving Ed’s apartment, so maybe they’re trying to save their relationship?
