Jenny McCarthy has some interesting tricks for looking fit

Jenny McCarthy shape magazine cover

Jenny McCarthy has admitted that she doesn’t actually look exactly like last month’s Shape magazine cover photo. Shock of shocks, she was airbrushed.

Jen recently spoke about the cover saying, “It’s eating healthy and also a crap load of airbrushing… I keep myself in very good shape… but it is definitely a little touched up. I have freckles… and stretchmarks that you do not see here, and they add a little shadowing to make these muscle things happen that don’t exist on my body.”

But Jenny fessed up about another body enhancer that doesn’t involve launching Photoshop and going at it with the brush tool. When McCarthy needs to look toned and slim for a photo or event she hits the hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

“It is an awesome thing… It treats inflammation, it prevents cancer neurological disorders… It’s gonna be imperative for everyone one day… There are rentals… It’ll cost you $50 for a session. It actually detoxes you and jet-lag, it helps with that… It’s just like a tanning spa.” [Source]

I’m a little too claustrophobic to try one of these things so if I ever make it onto the cover of a magazine, it looks like I’ll need a graphic artist to treat my inflammation.

Jenny McCarthy talks about losing baby weight in Shape

Jenny McCarthy gained a ton of weight when she was pregnant with her son but that was six years ago. Apparently, it’s taken her that long to lose the excess baggage and get back down to her natural size. Nutty, huh? She’s managed to get back on track through a dedicated diet and exercise regimen which she talks about in Shape magazine.

Jenny McCarthy’s weight ballooned to more than 200 pounds after the birth of her son Evan, now 6 – but the actress got back on track through smaller meals, a diet overhaul and a yoga regimen that left her boyfriend Jim Carrey feeling jealous.

“[Weight Watchers] taught me portion control and to be conscious of what I put into my mouth,” the outspoken McCarthy, 36, tells Shape magazine for its May issue.

Three years ago, McCarthy switched to a gluten- and dairy-free diet, and now a typical day’s menu includes egg whites, fish, fresh fruit and veggies. Between meals, she noshes on “those little packets of nuts from Starbucks.” [Source]

Sounds pretty sensible to me and as much as I love my gluten and dairy, I can totally understand how cutting them out would help anyone slim down. Good to know that Jenny is limiting the surgical alteration to her face only and handling her body in a natural way.

Jenny McCarthy is a plastic yogini

Looks like we’ve got a theme today, folks: aging, anti-aging and the wonders (or horrors) of plastic surgery.  Unlike Jennifer Aniston, Jenny McCarthy seems to be a lover of all things plastic and she admitted as much in a recent interview with Michigan Avenue Magazine.

Michigan Avenue: Where do you stand on plastic surgery and Botox?
Jenny McCarthy: I think plastic surgery is fun if it makes you feel good. I’m all for looking better, so I plan on doing whatever I want when the time comes. I love Botox, I absolutely love it. I get it minimally, so I can still move my face. But I really do think it’s a savior.

Jenny also talked about how she stays fit.

MA: How do you stay in shape?
JM: I do bikram yoga about three times a week. And then I also still do portion control with food and I really make sure my fillers are fruits and vegetables. And you know, you don’t have that in Chicago. It’s just, How much food can you put on the plate? I really had to learn a different way of eating, telling restaurants to bring only half my food. [Source]

I understand how portion control and plastic surgery make sense together but Bikram and Botox?!? How can you practice loving yourself as you are while at the same time allowing someone in a white lab coat to inject your face with botulism? Really, Jenny, I don’t think that Bikram would approve.

Jenny McCarthy talks about her diet

Jenny McCarthy is one of my favorite celebrities. She is beautiful, smart and funny. In a recent interview with People magazine, she also showed that, when it comes to dieting, she’s like most people - she’s not extremely fond of exercising, and she has guilty food pleasures, like nachos.

“I have my once-a-month nachos,” she says, “but it’s soy cheese and turkey chili on it, so it’s somewhat safe. But it’s still a big vice for me, because I have a big bowl of it.”The splurging doesn’t stop there. “And when I travel,” she says, “I like to take advantage of room service. I’m really into eggs Benedict in the morning.”

Jenny has stayed in such a great shape following the Weight Watchers diet.

“I’m still on the Weight Watchers kind of thing, so I just kind of remembered and started counting my points again throughout the day,” she says. “Fruits are zero points, vegetables are zero points, so I make sure I use that to bulk up, and then make sure I have my protein. I usually have my protein at lunch and my carbs at night – I don’t mix protein and carbs.”

Jenny disapproves of the zero-size trend, believing that too skinny is not attractive at all.

“You’re always gonna have your anorexics and you’re always gonna have your bulimics,” she said. “I’m hoping that young girls will look up to the girls that are the size 4, 6, and 8’s, and know that super super skinny is not pretty – just ask any guy!”

And if they still don’t believe her, McCarthy advises, “Ask the guy, ‘Do you think that skin and bones running on the beach is attractive?’ They’ll say, ‘Hell no!’ ” [Source]
