Jennifer Connelly’s dramatic weight loss was caused by stress and grief

Jennifer Connelly has recently lost a lot of weight, and this has caused people to wonder about her health. Some even speculated that she was losing weight in order to compete with her thin “He’s Just Not That Into You” co-star Jennifer Aniston.

The true reason for her weight loss, however, is grief and stress. Jennifer’s husband, Paul Bettany, has just revealed that his formerly curvaceous wife’s slimming down is the result of the death of her father Gerard, who passed away in September.

At Monday’s 20th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival, Connelly’s husband, British actor Paul Bettany, finally addressed the weight loss rumors.

“I will tell you… My wife just lost her father,” he explained to OK!. [Source]

Jennifer Connelly is on the cover of Marie Claire’s December 2008 issue. She looks gorgeous in the photoshoot that shows her dressed in several elegant black dresses.

In the interview, the beautiful actress talks about the things she loves: apples (she eats three a day), running, doing crafts and speaking the Italian language.

Pink Lady apples. “Three a day. I eat so many apples, it’s stupid.”

Speaking Italian. “It’s so much fun. It’s such a crisp and bright-sounding language.”

Vodka. “Chilled. No ice. Just a tiny bit of orange juice, or with soda and lime.”

Home. “I became a mom before I became a wife. When I had kids, I felt I had a home like I’d never experienced before.”

A hot LBD. “You can just fold it up and throw it in your bag. It always works.”

Doing crafts. “I have a Bedazzler! The last time we whipped it out was for Stellan’s birthday. I sewed capes for all the kids, and then they decorated them with fabric, paint, jewels, and buttons.”

Running. “Six to 10 miles on trails through the woods at our place up in the country.” [Source]
