Shenae Grimes candid pictures grocery shopping in LA

Here’s a new face on this blog: Shenae Grimes, who has recently become famous for her role as Annie Wilson on 90210. These candid pictures of her were taken on Sunday (November 2, 2008) as she went grocery shopping at Ralphs in Los Angeles.

Apparently, the producers of 90210 have ordered Shenae and her co-star Jessica Stroup to fatten up because they are too skinny and have sparked rumors of suffering from eating disorders.

“I’ve never seen Jessica or Shenae eat,” a show source tells Us Weekly. “They are trying too hard to be skinny, and it’s started to wear on them. It’s just not healthy.”

Jillian Clare pictures at the LA premiere of “Run Fatboy Run”

young actress jillian clare picture

Yet another post in the “Hollywood’s fresh faces” category, where I try to promote young actresses that are still not very well known (but probably will be).

Here are some pictures of the talented 15-year-old actress and singer Jillian Clare at the LA premiere of “Run Fatboy Run” on Monday (March 24).

Jillian Clare is an exuberant, accomplished award winning young actress/singer originally from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. At five years old Jillian began singing and dancing on stage winning accolades and numerous vocal talent awards. Her acting career began when she was 6, entertaining audiences performing in a one person original musical titled ‘A Dream is a Wish‘. Commercial work quickly followed, along with a lead role in the independent pilot, Bright Lights.

Since arriving in Los Angeles during the summer of 2000, Jillian has been busy lending her considerable talent to television and films. Her compelling performance portraying pre-teen ‘Abby Deveraux‘ on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” (1965), earned her the 2004 and 2005 ‘Young Artist Award’ as the Best Recurring Young Actress on television. In addition, she has appeared in many commercials, several feature and short subject films, including, the blockbuster Spider-Man (2002), a starring role in the family film Quigley (2003) opposite Gary Busey, and the multi-award winning short, Chasing Daylight (2004). 2004 brought another dimension to Jillian’s career, with a hosting job on the Universal pilot presentation, All Access Pass, a news magazine show geared toward kids and teens. In 2005, a new credit was added to her resume as she not only starred in but also executive produced the live action comedy pilot, L.A.F.I.T. She also co-wrote and recorded the theme song for the pilot.

Jillian continues to appear on-stage in both musicals and dramatic plays, something she holds dear to her heart. While working on the popular soap opera, she successfully juggled her ‘Days‘ schedule to star as ‘Scout‘ in Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird on stage at the West Coast Ensemble in Hollywood. Other stage productions include, Music Man, Annie Get Your Gun, Meet Me in St. Louis, A Christmas Carol and the original show, Meet Me at the Oak, a role that earned the young actress a ‘Best Child Actor’ award. During the 2000 Christmas season, Jillian played ‘Cindy Lou-Who‘ in the live production of Grinchmas at Universal Studios in Hollywood. To date, she is the youngest performer ever hired at the theme park. [IMDB]

Jillian was born on July 25, 1992 in the United States, and is 5′ 4″ (1.63 m) tall.

Samantha Droke pictures at the Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! premiere

Samantha Droke pictures at the Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! premiere

In an attempt to promote new young actresses, I’ll occasionally post pictures and information about Hollywood’s fresh faces.

I’ll start off with Samantha Droke, here pictured at the premiere of “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” in LA yesterday (March 8). In this animated movie, Samantha is the voice of Hildy/Holly.

Here’s a little more about Samantha from her IMDB page:

A native Texan, Samantha Droke was born on November 8th, 1987, in De Leon. She is the daughter of Lyndon and Synthia Droke. Samantha possessed a love of performing from a very young age. She started out singing and modeling and then her interests began to move towards acting. She truly believed that she was destined for the silver screen. Samantha began modeling and acting in plays and commercials locally. She was discovered by agent Nicole Conner at the tender age of fifteen. Within two weeks, she landed her first independent feature film Truce directed by Matthew Marconi, co-starring alongside Buck Taylor (who played Newly in “Gunsmoke” (1955)) and Oscar-nominated actor George Kennedy from Cool Hand Luke (1967). After wrapping Truce (2005), she truly caught the bug. Her family sold everything they had but their clothes and moved to LA. At age seventeen, Samantha began to hit her stride. She landed a national commercial for Cingular Wireless and recently booked a guest-star role on the Hallmark Channel’s Jane Doe: The Wrong Face (2005) (TV) (directed by Mark Griffiths) and a starring role in the feature film Don’t Be Scared (2006) (V) (directed and produced by Master P and ‘Lil’ Romeo’ ). Samantha also performs at the LA Connection Comedy Improv Club. Not only beautiful and intelligent, Samantha has the kind of drive and determination rarely seen in actors her age.

Samantha is 5′ 4″ (1.63 m) tall. I couldn’t find any info on her weight, but she looks quite thin in these pictures.
