Rihanna reveals her diet and fitness secrets

Rihanna reveals her diet and fitness secrets

In a recent interview, Rihanna revealed that she works hard to stay in shape. As she has previously stated, “carbs are the enemy” to her, but she says she gets weak if she goes three days without eating them.

You have an amazing figure. How do you stay in shape?
A lot of hard work and a lot of running on the treadmill. Cardio is the key. I have a personal trainer who travels with me if we have a big event coming up. I work out every day but I need a trainer to motivate me – I don’t find it much fun working out on my own.

What do you like about your body?
My bum, and I keep working at it as I want it to be perfect. It makes my clothes look good – and guys like it!

And what do you like least?
My legs. I’m insecure about them. Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio. I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results.

Do you have a strict diet?
Carbs are the enemy but if I go three days without them, I start getting weak. If my trainer had her way, I’d eat small meals every three hours, but I sometimes only eat once or twice a day. I have egg whites and pineapple for breakfast with hot water and lemon. For lunch I have fish and potatoes. I hate vegetables but I make myself eat them. For dinner I have fish again.

Does size matter?
Not at all. My size varies – sometimes I’m a (US) 2, sometimes 4 (UK 6 or 8) – but what matters is being fit and healthy. Being slim makes me feel better about myself. It boosts my self-esteem, and having a toned body helps with my job because I wear a lot of skimpy costumes. My weight fluctuates, but I don’t weigh myself every day. I’m 5ft 8in and weigh around 9st 7lb. [Fabulous Mag]

Kelly Osbourne wants to release a drag fitness DVD

Kelly Osbourne wants to release a drag fitness DVD

Kelly Osbourne, who has lost a lot of weight recently, wants to share her weight loss tips by releasing a fitness DVD with her drag queen friends.

“She has enlisted the help of her cross-dressing friend Jodie Harsh and her other drag queen friends to make the video a camp, show-tune packed extravaganza.

She wants it to be a hedonist’s guide to toning up. So many exercise DVDs can be boring, cynical and useless – she wants this one to be different.” [FemaleFirst]

Everything Kelly does is interesting, different, and a little wacky, so I can’t wait to see what her fitness DVD will look like – I’m sure it will be a lot of fun!

Jessica Simpson hurt millions of fat people in America

Jessica Simpson hurt millions of fat people in America

In 2005, Jessica Simpson made a fitness DVD for the fitness video company Speedfit. But the workout tape was never released, because Jessica changed her mind about it and asked her father (and manager) Joe to ban its release

Now, the fitness company is suing Joe Simpson for blocking its release.

Now Speedfit owner Alex Astilean has filed suit against Joe after failing to secure a $10 million settlement from his daughter last year.

“They are hurting millions of fat people in America!” Astilean tells Usmagazine.com. “I believe that very strongly — they held the video for years!” [Us]

There are rumors that say the reason why Jessica didn’t want the tape to be released was because she was drunk while filming it.

Jessica Alba talks about her pregnancy diet

jessica alba talks about her pregnancy

Jessica Alba talked about her pregnancy and her new diet to People magazine. Here are a few highlights:

On her body’s first changes:
Within two weeks of finding out I was pregnant, I went from a 32B to a 34D. I was like, ‘Wow, where did these come from?’ It was instant. It was great, but it was shocking.

It’s more like something is taking over my body. You can’t believe you have something inside of you that’s growing. It’s the most incredible thing in the world, and at the same time, it’s very emotional and bizarre.

On her belly:
I’m finally showing! I can’t wait to have a really big belly. It doesn’t feel weird, it feels normal. Gaining weight is natural and it’s what’s needed for the baby.

On her pregnancy workouts and eating habits:
I do everything completely differently. Now I just do walking and stretching, treadmill, stationary bike, yoga, or Pilates instead of running and weights. I don’t have the stamina anymore. But exercise keeps me grounded and makes me feel both healthy and happy. And it’s supposed to make giving birth easier. Anything that makes that easier, I’m all for it!

I’m also eating every 4 hours. Before I got pregnant, I wouldn’t be hungry to eat that much. Now, if I don’t eat anything, I get tired and cranky. It’s like, there’s somebody here who needs food! My body isn’t mine anymore, and I’m okay with that.

On cravings:
Lemonade. I drank a lot of coffee, so I’ve replaced it with lemonade. Everything smelled so strong. I had to cut out meat and cheese, but I really craved lemons. [Celebrity Baby Blog]

Ali Larter in Shape magazine March 2008

Ali Larter is on the cover of Shape magazine‘s March 2008 issue.

The 31-year-old actress, who plays Niki Sanders in hit TV series Heroes, is on Shape’s “Sexiest Bodies in Hollywood” list.

What are Ali‘s secrets being in such great shape? Daily exercise, eating an organic diet in moderation, and banning “bad” foods like ice cream.

Larter says: “Working out has always been a part of my life. Now that I’m in my 30s it’s become even more important for me to take care of myself.”

This involves running for two to three miles, 25 minutes, three or four times a week through the Hollywood Hills.

“This is non-negotiable,” Larter says. “I don’t think about it. I just do it. I never, ever miss my workout. Never!”

The model-turned-actress, who has never had a weight problem, also says that moderation is the key to her slim figure.

She says: “One night I splurge and have pasta and champagne and finish with a chocolate soufflé. The next it’s a salad for dinner and frozen yogurt for dessert.”

The Heroes actress also favors an all-organic diet of cereal, soy milk, grilled chicken and salad.

“I love to cook my own dinners,” she says. “But I rarely eat carbs at night because I tend to put on pounds when I do. So I just make a sauce, like a thick lamb ragout, skip the bread and pasta and add a salad.”

Another one of her tips is to bin naughty foods like ice cream. She says: “I take three bites and throw the rest out. If I don’t, I’ll eat it all night long.” [Showbiz Spy]
