It took her long enough to jump on the bandwagon, but Kim Kardashian has finally decided to give the Jukari Fit-to-Fly workout a go. I swear, if there’s one thing Kim knows how to do it’s pick her angles. When she wants the world to see Skinny Kim, she shows them Skinny Kim and when she wants to show some booty, well she can make that happen too.

Naomi Watts and baby-daddy Live Schreiber went out for a jog in SoHo yesterday proving yet again that the couple that runs together…well, runs together. Judging by their goofy grins, it looks like this was more a leisurely jog than a heart-pumping run but either way, it’s nice that they’ve each got a default workout buddy.

Lisa Rinna preps for Playboy by staying out of the gym

Lisa Rinnas Playboy shoot is kind of old news by now and yet she’s still out there running her mouth about the experience, so I suppose I can continue to post about it. Rinna wants the world to know that the best way to prep for a nude spread (pun intended) is by skipping the gym. What, you ask? How is this possible? Rinna explains photographer Deborah Anderson’s logic:

“She knows that I’m a workout fiend and she said, ‘Lisa, I don’t want you to work out, and I don’t want you to starve yourself before the shoot, because I know you will,’” Rinna tells Us.

When she agreed to bare all, Rinna says she thought, “‘OK, I’ve really got to limit my food intake and be really good. I’ve got to workout everyday, twice a day, like crazy.’”

But Anderson told her she didn’t want her “muscular, hard, sinewy.” She needed to look “soft and beautiful,” Rinna recalls.

Says the star, “At first I was like, ‘Oh, forget it!’ But then I listened to her and said, ‘You know what? I’ve got to trust her. She’s an amazing photographer.’”

In the end, Rinna says, “I felt great — and I looked great! I’m really pleased with how my body looked in Playboy.” [Source]

Can’t wait to see what all the hype is about, although I will admit to being just slightly skeeved out by the soap star’s insistence that she looks hot as hell. We shall see.

No, not literally. Don’t worry, fellas. Kim Kardashian has been working out extra hard to get ready for bikini season. The curvy reality star had this to say in an interview with US Weekly about the insane hours she’s been keeping at the gym:

“I have been going sooo hard in the gym, and I really feel it’s paying off!” she  blogs. “My tummy is soo toned. Why is it that the top part gets ripped first and the lower part is sooo hard to tone up!? I am determined to have a six pack by summer! In a feminine way, of course.”

The 5-foot-2, 118-pound Kardashian, 28, recently opened up to Us Weekly about how she whittled her size-6 physique down to a size 2.

Her routine involves “an upbeat warm-up, then upper-body cardio using 5-pound weights, a lower-body workout with squats and lunges,” she told Us. She finishes it off “with an abs series and stretching.”

Despite all the working out, she tells Us, “I love my curves and have to work out to maintain them. Actually, keeping my shape takes a lot more work than just doing nothing or being super-skinny. So this was about toning up, getting fit.” [Source]

You know, I had no idea Dash was so short. Just another example of how reality TV actually warps your perception of reality. Move over Jim Morrison, I’m about to break on through.

Kim Kardashian apparently hates working out, which strikes me as funny since she’s about to release an exercise DVD. The curvy reality star recently revealed how she went from a size 6 to a size 2 in less than a week.

…it wasn’t thanks to starving herself that she accomplished such an amazing feat, she says, but because of an intense workout routine and going on a macrobiotic diet. Both are aimed to help her stay toned while also focusing on her health.

…for the launch of the fitness DVD, the star had to start working out more, so her training included, as per her own admission, daily sessions of at least two hours of exercise. Sometimes, Kim even did two sessions in the same die, with the same purpose of being in the best shape for the DVD launch.

Each session started with a warmup, followed by cardio exercises with five-pound weights. According to Kim, her favorite exercises are squats and lunges – ideal for the lower part of the body – but she also worked her abs and did some stretching at the end of each session. Because she hardly works out outdoors, Kim had to focus on her entire body in the gym, which is why she tried to work all the muscles with various exercises.

As for the diet, just recently, Kardashian discovered the many advantages of the macrobiotic diet, which includes, veggie burgers, quinoa, tofu and soy cheese. Low in fat, high in fiber and mostly vegan, the diet has worked wonders for the star so far, she says. However, she still indulges in her cravings every now and then, not being the one able to resist the temptation of burgers and fries. With all that, the socialite explains, she tries to avoid heavy carbs and is moderate even when she’s giving in to cravings. [Source]

Who would have ever guessed that your best, most effective workout tool is sitting right below your ankles? Anna Faris seems to be ahead of the curve. She doesn’t waste too much time or money on unnecessary exercise equipment. When she wants to feel the burn, she laces up her sneaks and hits the trail.

To keep fit, Anna Faris heads outside for a cardio workout that’s also social. “I really like to hike. I love the idea that it invites so much conversation with the people that you’re with [and] you end up having great talks,” says the Observe and Report actress. “Before you realize that you’ve worked out hard, you’ve also had a great moment with your friends or whomever you’re with!”

Anna doesn’t limit her walking to the trails. She also does a fair amount of road work and did plenty of Pilates to shape up for her role in “The House Bunny.


Jennifer Lopez suspends disbelief and butt

Jennifer Lopez is far more interested in being a mommy these days than she is in being a movie star. With twin toddlers toddling around the house, it’s no surprise that J-Lo has stepped out of the limelight. However, Jennifer seems to be popping up a bit lately and she’s looking as fit as ever. Apparently, she and trainer Gunnar Peterson have been working out with the TRX Suspension Trainer

…a portable fitness tool that weighs less than 2 lbs. and can be anchored to a door or any secure point for a total-body workout. The singer-actress has “done push-ups on them, rows, hamstrings – there’s not a body part that you can’t hit using it,” says Peterson. “It allows you to work with your body weight depending on the angle and how much you pull on it.” [Source]

Whitney Port is too focused on workout

Whitney Port was so focused on getting her workout in yesterday that she completely forgot to feed the meter after parking her car near her Brentwood gym.

The “City” cutie emerged from the gym to find that she’d forgotten to put coins in the parking meter, discovering a parking ticket on her vehicle.

And according to a report, Miss Port has left her gig at Diane von Furstenburg and returned to her old job at the People’s Revolution public relations firm.

However, MTV is staying quiet about the move, telling press, “We are currently shooting the next season of episodes, and since the show is in production, we don’t comment on upcoming story lines.” [Source]

Whitney has so much going on it’s no wonder she’s forgetting the little things. Not too worried about ol’ Whit. I’m sure she’ll get it all figured out soon enough.
