Shawn Johnson became the first female gymnast ever to win the prestigious Sullivan Award. She even managed to beat out her Olympics teammate, and All-Around gold medalist, Nastia Lukin on Wednesday night to grab the award, given to America’s best amateur sportsperson.

“Being up there with all the other athletes and just hearing all the titles they kept listing off, I was like, `There’s no way.’ Then when they called my name,” Johnson said. “It’s the biggest honor there is. To be the first female gymnast, it’s just amazing. I’m so excited.”

Johnson won four medals at the 2008 Olympics: the gold on balance beam and silvers in the team, floor exercise and all-around, where she finished second to Liukin. Johnson is only the second U.S. gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal on balance beam, joining Shannon Miller (1996). [Source]

There was no red carpet interview, no cut-to in the front row and no cue card prompts for Katie Holmes last night. So where was she? Where was Tom Cruise? Resting? On a diet? Shouldn’t she have been out power-walking and doing Pilates? What is she eating (or not eating) that has her so wiped out and unable to attend the most talked about event of the year? WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KATIE HOLMES?!?

Despite what Angelina Jolie has to say about her post-baby body, she looked ridiculously gorgeous at last night’s Academy Awards in a black Elie Saab gown and Lorraine Schwartz emerald drop earrings. I saw no evidence of saggy boobs or bulging belly—just a little frustration when Brad Pitt left her side for a split second on the red carpet.

Angie doesn’t have to work very hard to look beautiful but I’m sure she didn’t slack on the preparation last night considering the Jennifer Aniston throw-down that everyone on the sidelines was anticipating. Aniston looked super glam as well and come on, people, it’s apples and oranges, really. You’ve got to give Jen props for maintaining an air of cool while bumbling around on that stage with that clown Jack Black.

“I was shocked at how well she held it together,” one insider tells OK!. “Even if she is as over the whole situation as she claims to be, you’d think she’d have shown more frayed nerves considering the situation.”

Sienna Miller raised the glamour stakes in Hollywood ahead of the Oscar ceremony as she and other stars were spotted at a charity event in an array of revealing dresses.

The “Factory girl” star, who had previously started the magic vodka diet craze, after realizing that vodka contains less calories than wine, was spotted wearing a flowing low-cut and strapless pink gown. She is scheduled to make her design debut at the London Fashion Week later today.

The Alfie star will present designs from the Twenty8Twelve label she runs with her sister Savannah. The pair launched the label, whose name represents Sienna’s birthday, in September 2007

Kylie Minogue emerged an outright winner in the fashion stakes at the 2009 BRITs last night. It was a perfect sixy for Kylie when she clocked up an impressive six costume change throughout the awards.

She started the night, arriving at Earls Court, London looking every inch the A-list star in a floor-length black sequinned evening gown, but soon stripped off into a seductive white outfit, showing off as much leg as possible. Before the audience could catch their breath, she emerged again in a candy-coloured mini dress.

After another quick change, she appeared on stage in a green combat print mini-dress, with long train, followed by an embelleshing evening gown. For the finale, Kylie chose the shortest dress of all - a sequinned red mini-dress.

Not sure about her, but the audience was definitely spinning around.
