Donatella Versace has finally revealed what everyone already knew for a long time: her daughter, Allegra Versace Beck, is suffering from anorexia.
Our daughter has been battling anorexia, a very serious disease, for many years now.
Woman’s Day is reporting that Allegra has been forcibly admitted to a medical and psychiatric treatment centre after her weight dropped to 70lbs (32kg) due to her battle with anorexia. Her condition is said to be so serious that she is under 24-hour supervision and must be fed through a naso-gastric tube.
A Versace family employee witnessed Allegra’s deterioration.
It was the most sad and traumatic experience of my life. Her arms are like candlesticks. Her skin is this unnatural colour I’ve never seen before.
But there’s more to the story - now Donatella is planning to sue several newspapers for printing her words on Allegra’s anorexia, downsizing her daughter’s disease and claiming that she never made such statements.
Allegra is not at present staying in any hospital, she is living in her private residence and her condition does not cause particular concerns. [Source]
I’m going to refrain now from blaming the fashion industry (or even her mother) for Allegra Versace’s disease, I’m just hoping that she gets well soon!
