Mariah Carey wants to have a princess baby

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey is ready to start popping ‘em out. She’s close to hitting her one-year anniversary with Nick Cannon and apparently Carey has already started buying tons of pink, plastic crap for a baby-less nursery.

According to a report, the “Touch My Body” songstress has already dropped $200,000 on pink baby furniture at a trendy boutique in hopes of having a girl.  And she’s looking to get a castle in which to raise her little princess.

Mariah has reportedly made an offer on the French Chateau-style David Saperstein estate in Holmby Hills which is listed with an asking price of $125 million.

An insider revealed, “It’s 45,000 square feet and looks like a European castle.  It’s so big, it can’t even be called a mansion - it’s similar to Buckingham Palace! She has asked [interior decorator] Kenneth Bordewick to advise on her new home and has requested an all-pink nursery. It’s going to be over the top!” [Source]

There’s something a little bit sad about this story. What if poor Mariah never has her princess baby? Will she keep the pink nursery like some kind of immortal shrine to what could have been? I can picture it in fifty years—all grown over with black mold and inches of dust; tree limbs and green vines snaking in through the window and choking the life out of Mariah’s dream while the singer sits in the corner like Miss Havisham, rocking herself gently to sleep in an outdated mini-dress. Terrifying.
