Britney Spears’ dad confiscated her pink wig

As Britney Spears‘ father Jamie was appointed to temporary control her belongings, he confiscated some of her stuff, including her famous pink wig, in an attempt to clean up her act.
Britney’s ex-manager Sam Lutfi said that when Britney put on that wig, she turned into a completely different (and crazy) person:
“In the depressive episodes, it’s all crying,” Lutfi tells Us. “But in the manic episode, there’s very little crying or sympathy or compassion. She becomes another person. She becomes somebody that just doesn’t care about anybody or anything.”
“The British accent is part of the mania,” he adds. “She’ll stick to the British accent because she becomes comfortable with it… But you know, when the pink wig comes on, it’s getting bad.” [Us Weekly]

That’s not bipolar! That’s DID - dissociative identity disorder, once known as MPD. The accent, the “being another person”. Considering her past, being thrown into global attention as a teen, is traumatic, and I wouldn’t doubt it if she had DID.
At first, I also thought that she suffered from DID (with that British persona she’s built for herself), but they keep mentioning bipolar disorder. So maybe she’s just having periods of depression and mania, and the British accent is just part of her mania.
I think the psychiatrists who consulted her would have known if she was dissociative and wouldn’t have diagnosed her with bipolar disorder…
