Jessica Simpson lost a lot of weight!

Jessica Simpson lost a lot of weight in the last two months, since she met her personal trainer Harley Pasternak. It is said she has dropped at least two dress sizes and lost almost 20lbs in just eight weeks!

What is her secret? Jessica hits the gym five times a week. Her workout routine lasts from 25 to 55 minutes and includes
step-ups, side bends, crunches, dumbbell rows and the occasional use of an
exercise ball. Here’s what her trainer says:

“I don’t use a tape measure or the scales. Weighing and measuring don’t create a lifestyle change. It is always defeating if you’ve been doing a lot of exercise, then you step on the scale and you’re no lighter. It should be about how you look and how you feel.”

Jessica also follows a special diet devised by Harley Pasternak, called the “5-Factor Diet“. This diet is all the rage right now in Hollywood (some of the other celebrities who are on this diet are Eva Mendes, Vanessa Williams and Katherine Heigl).

This is a very simple and sustainable diet that has no carb or calorie-cutting rules, instead it puts an accent on moderation. Jessica Simpson is allowed one day to eat anything she likes, but Pasternak says she won’t be tempted to use these days to binge on unhealthy foods:

“The plan promotes an entire lifestyle change. After a while my clients get sick if they splurge on unhealthy foods.”


Here’s what Jessica Simpson eats on a typical diet day:

Breakfast: Scrambled egg with toast and grapefruit. Coffee with Splenda.

Snack 1: One cup of fat-free ricotta cheese and two cored pears, cut into wedges. Diet soda.

Lunch: Chicken breast sandwich with mustard and a side of black beans. Diet Snapple.

Snack 2: Carrot sticks with onion dip made from non-fat sour cream, non-fat cream cheese and one tablespoon dry onion soup mix.

Dinner: Indian-style chicken breasts with curried yoghurt sauce (made from non-fat plain yogurt, one teaspoon of curry powder and peeled cucumber) served with brown rice. Green tea. [Source]
